THE DIAMOND
Class, charm and cheekiness is what you'll find in Gastown's old-world cocktail parlour. Upstairs in one of Vancouver, BC's oldest building, The Diamond feels like a low-lit hideaway from another era. Like somewhere Miss Moneypenny would tip vodka and vermouth.
CONCEPT
The Diamond puts value in high quality and heritage. Naturally, they needed something to reflect both while maintaining a vibrant, unique approach to standout within Vancouver's thriving restaurant scene . Taking cues from the history of the building itself, inspiration was taken from the prohibition era. Delicate Art Deco is presented using an archetypal green colour palette alongside neutral, rich tones and clean, modern typography to achieve fresh and elegant, yet understated. Bespoke icons and illustrations across cocktail kits, packaging and menu systems is slightly whimsical, yet sophisticated allowing all elements of the brand identity to play from a contemporary perspective.
As a special sidebar to the main environment, the Elk Room is characterized by a sophisticated twist on the contemporary Art Deco aesthetic that defines The Diamond. A comprehensive set of menu systems and bespoke iconography distinguish the Elk Room as an independent room while maintaining a cohesive look and feel to the overall identity.
